2nd EurasiaTrajeco Conference Held in Paris


2nd EurasiaTrajeco conference: Connected Histories—Trading Networks Across the Eurasian Continent: Structures, Practices, and Socio-economic Impact was held in Paris EHESS on 28th and 29th November. More than thirty scholars from Asia and Europe participated.



The opening remarks were made by Patrice Bourdelais (Director, Institut des Sciences Humaines et Sociales (INSHS), Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Professor Wang Gungwu (Chairman of the East Asian Institute and University Professor of National University of Singapore) then gave the keynote speech on the Systemic Norms and Deep Structures: Dealing with the Eurasian Core.




In the two-day conference, scholars presented their studies and shared their findings; the conference significantly promoted the academic exchanges among various fields.

This conference was financed by CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research), EHESS (School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences), PRES heSam, and Fondation Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation. The 3rd GDRI conference will be held in Novembre, 2015 (date to be further confirmed).
