Call for Papers-WINIR Conference
The inaugural WINIR conference will be held on the grounds of the stunning Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London, UK. The conference will start in the afternoon of 11 September and finish on the morning of 14 September with a guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site that includes the Royal Observatory, home of the Greenwich prime meridian.
Keynotes lectures, representing five academic disciplines, will be given by:
Geoffrey Ingham (University of Cambridge, sociology)
Timur Kuran (Duke University, economics)
Katharina Pistor (Columbia University, law)
Barry Smith (SUNY Buffalo, philosophy)
Kathleen Thelen (MIT, politics)
Abstract submissions (400 words max.) from any discipline are welcome. All submissions must be explicitly about institutions (or organisations), and/or address institutional thought.
Submissions will be evaluated by the WINIR Scientific Quality Committee, currently composed of: Peter Boettke (George Mason University, economics), Simon Deakin (University of Cambridge, law), Geoff Hodgson (University of Hertfordshire, economics), Timur Kuran (Duke University, economics), Uskali Mäki (University of Helsinki, philosophy), Katharina Pistor (Columbia University, law), Sven Steinmo (European University Institute, politics), Wolfgang Streeck (Max Planck Institute Cologne, sociology).
All conference participants must be members of WINIR.
The conference registration fee is £320, excluding the official conference dinner. To benefit from the early-bird registration fee of £270 registration must be completed by 31 May 2014.
